Choose a PDF, then copy its text or save it as a .txt file. Nothing is uploaded.
This reads the text that is already stored inside the PDF. A scanned PDF or a photo saved as PDF has no text to read: turn its pages into images with PDF to JPG, then run image to text (OCR) on them. Line breaks and column order follow the PDF's internal order and may need tidying in multi-column pages and tables. Fonts, images and layout are not kept. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Up to 300 pages per run.
Is my PDF uploaded? No. It is read in your browser and the text stays on your device.
Why did it say there is no text? The PDF is probably a scan, so every page is just a picture. Use OCR on the page images instead.
Is this a PDF to Word converter? No. It gives plain text only; formatting, tables and pictures are not rebuilt.
