Cut a recording down to the part you need and save it as a WAV file. Nothing is uploaded.
The result is always an uncompressed WAV file, which is larger than an MP3 of the same length (about 10 MB per minute for stereo at 44.1 kHz). This tool cuts; it does not convert to MP3 or compress. Which formats open depends on your browser: if a file will not load, try another format or browser. Files over about 200 MB are refused so phones do not run out of memory.
Is my recording uploaded? No. It is decoded and cut locally in your browser.
Why is the WAV so big? WAV is uncompressed audio. It keeps full quality but takes more space than MP3.
Can I change the format to MP3? Not in this tool.
